Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my thoughts on Xbox + Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 which is a part of Summer Game Fest 2022, on June 12, 2022.

Before I start, not every game that was shown in this presentation will be talked about as I will mainly talk about games that I care and am interested on. If the games that you care and are interested don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're not just for me or it's just I don't have much to say about them expect cool. However, if you are happy with the games that you care and are interested on that I'm not or nothing to say about it, good for you and I'm happy for you.

Anyway, let's get started!

Now, for those who might be wondering, what is Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase? Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is a digital presentation from Xbox & Bethesda where they announce which games will be coming to Xbox Series X and PC in the years to come. Without further ado, let's get to it!

Redfall is a first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks where the game is set to be released in 2023 on Xbox Series X and PC.

When they first show off this game back in E3 2021, I didn't know what to think of it since it was a CGI trailer with no gameplay, so it was hard for me to get into it. However, after what they've show in this trailer with actual gameplay, I can see this game being quite fun. Granted, I'm not into first-person shooters that much, but this does look fun, and we'll see how this game will turn out since it was originally supposed to come out this year but got delayed to 2023 so hoping for the best for this game.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania action-adventure game developed by Team Cherry as it will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC with an unannounced release window at this time.

It's been three years since we've last saw anything from Hollow Knight: Silksong which was E3 2019 so it's great to see it back after so long. Granted, there's still no release window for the game, but the fact that the game still exists made me show hope that the game will soon be released with that much development being done as the gameplay looks awesome. This is going to be an awesome game when it's released and looking forward to seeing more of this game when it comes out.

High on Life is a comedic biopunk first-person shooter developed and published by Squanch Games as the game will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in October 2022.

Okay, this looks to be a very interesting first-person shooter and the fact that this game has the creators of Rick & Morty in it got me really intrigued on this game. We'll see how this game will turn out once it's released in four months.

League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant from Riot Games will be coming to Xbox Game Pass with all the champions, foundations set, select little legends, and agents unlocked this winter.

Nice to see the biggest Riot Games coming to Xbox Game Pass as Xbox Game Pass continues to be the best deal in gaming and with the addition of these games being added, it's going to get better from here. Hope these games do well on Xbox Game Pass when they're released this winter.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a sequel in the rising action-adventure stealth video game developed by Asobo Studios and published by Focus Entertainment, A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game is planning to come to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC later this year.

Nice to see that there will be a sequel to this game as I did enjoy playing A Plague Tale: Innocence as it will continue on where it left off from the first game. Can't wait to see how this game will turn out when it comes out later this year.

Forza Motorsport is a reboot of the popular simulation racing game series, Forza Motorsport, as the reboot of the game will be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in Spring 2023.

Well, if people were looking for Forza Motorsport 8, I think this is it, but it is going to be a reboot of the series with it being titled Forza Motorsport. In terms of the direction that they'll be going with this reboot is tough to say, but I'm intrigued on what they'll do with the series from here on. As of right now, it looks amazing, but we'll see what they do in terms of gameplay, modes, etc.

Microsoft Flight Simulator will have a new update for its 40th Anniversary and it will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in November 2022.

I'm still impressed and amazed on what Microsoft Flight Simulator has accomplished in order to make the actual world and its environment real to our world in a way that feels like we're on the flight itself. Incredible. Very curious on what they'll do for the 40th Anniversary of this series when a new update hits in five months.

Overwatch 2 is a sequel to the beloved first-person shooter game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch, as it will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in October 4, 2022.

This game has been in development for quite a while now and it looks like it'll finally be released. Multiplayer was always fun, but it looks like this time, they're adding single player content which is nice, and the new hero looks cool but needs some gameplay to see how they play. Regardless, this does look good, and we'll see how the final product will be when it launches in four months.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels is an update to the well-acclaimed Forza Horizon 5 as Hot Wheels will be added to the game as the update will be on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on July 19, 2022.

Okay, I'm already liking Forza Horizon 5 for what it is, but the fact that they added Hot Wheels to it might make this game even a lot more fun that what it already is. Can't wait to see how this update will turn out as it comes out next month.

Ark II is the sequel to the action-adventure survival game, Ark, developed and published by Studio Wildcard as it will be an Xbox Series X exclusive in 2023.

When we first saw this game back in Game Awards 2020, it did look great as the gameplay looks fun and the graphics are stunning. Granted, we didn't get anything new in this trailer, but we'll see how the final product turns out when it comes out next year and the fact that this game is an Xbox Series X exclusive is pretty huge for Xbox. Also, can't believe that Vin Diesel is in this game. Unbelievable.

Scorn is a first-person biopunk survival horror adventure video game developed and published by Ebb Software as the game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 21, 2022.

When we first saw this game back in the Xbox Games Showcase 2020, it looked to be very spooky and creepy with its atmosphere and visuals which I still get here. This looks to be a very intriguing game and I'm very curious on how this game will play out as it will be released in four months.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action-RPG open-world adventure game developed by A44 and published by Kepler Interactive. The game is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in early 2023.

This game does look pretty good and despite the small frame rate drops here and there, the game is still to be in development and won't be releasing until early 2023 so they have time to polish up the game to make it even better than what it is than what they've shown. I hope to see more of this game in the future as it does look like a lot of fun, so we'll see how it is once it comes out in early 2023.

Minecraft Legends is an action strategy game developed by Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

Nice to see that another Minecraft spin-off is in the works and this one look pretty good and with a strategic battle mechanic into it, this should be very interesting. We'll see how this game will turn out once it comes out next year and hope to see more of it in the future.

Lightyear Frontier is a peaceful open-world farming adventure developed and published by FRAME BREAK and Amplifier Game Invest as it will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in Spring 2023.

This game looks very peaceful as it looks like your typical Harvest Moon game, but you are using a mech to do all the farming simulation which is awesome. Love the environments and the scenery as well. Looking forward to seeing more of this game when it comes out Spring 2023.

Gunfire Reborn is an adventure level-based game developed by Duoyi Games and published by 505 Games as the game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in October 2022.

Even though this game looks to be a typical first-person shooter, the character designs of these characters with them being animals make them stand out compared to other ones I've seen and it actually looks quite fun. Looking forward to seeing more of this game when it comes out in four months.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a gothic 2.5D narrative action-adventure game developed by Plot Twist and published by Rogue Games Inc. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in Spring 2023.

I really have to say that I really like the art style of this game and the story of this game seems to be very intriguing as well as it got me here. This looks to be a very interesting game with its story and gameplay so we'll see how the game will turn when it comes out in Spring 2023.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is an action-adventure battle royale game developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games Montreal. The game is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on June 23, 2022.

This actually looks a lot of fun and the fact that it's also a battle royale is also quite interesting. Really like the character designs, the setting, and the combat looked smooth. Plus, this game is pretty much coming out this month, so we'll see how the game turns out as I'm definitely intrigued by this.

Pentiment is an adventure video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in November 2022.

I have to say that the art style of this game is very unique compared to the other games I've seen as it looks to be European art that is hand-drawn or painted which is quite impressive. It also seems like this game is very story-based too with the decisions the player makes and so forth. Very interested to see more of this game when it comes out in six months.

Grounded is a survival video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios as the full game will be released on September 2022, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

This game has been out for about two years, but after all the updates and everything, it looks like the game is finally complete. From what I've played with the game so far from the past, it's quite fun as you're basically fighting against insects. We'll see how the full game turns out when it comes out in three months.

Ereban: Shadow Legacy is a fast-paced stealth platformer game developed by Baby Robot Games and published by Raw Fury as the game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

This game looks pretty fun as the player is playing as a ninja robot killing off robots so that's cool. Definitely seem very fast-paced and with stealth being involved in this platformer, this seems to be a fun game and I'm very interested to see more of it when it comes out next year.

Diablo IV is the next game in the popular action role-playing game series, developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

Well, it looks like Blizzard has made the next Diablo game and it looks amazing. Love Diablo II back when I was a teenager and while I did enjoy Diablo III, it wasn't as good compared to Diablo II in my opinion. Regardless, glad to see that the Necromancer class is returning in Diablo IV and this game is going to be fun whether you're playing solo or with friends. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out when it's released in 2023.

Ravenlok is an action-adventure game developed by Cococucumber and it's coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

Man, another cool looking game that reminds me a bit of Zelda, Minecraft, and Kingdom Hearts into one for some reason whether it's the visuals, the gameplay, and the music, all of it just clicked with me and it looks incredible. Definitely have an eye for this game and hope to see more of it when it comes next year.

COCOON is a puzzle adventure game developed by Geometric Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, in 2023.

Man, Xbox is killing it with these unique looking games and this one in particular with its puzzles seem interesting and I really enjoyed the music that was played on here as well. Another game that is on my radar that I want to see more of as it will be coming out next year.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. The game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, in early 2023.

Dang, I was hoping that a Japanese game would show at an Xbox presentation and here we go, we got one with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Koei Tecmo and it actually looks pretty good. Hope to see more Japanese games come to Xbox and I can't wait to see more of this game when it comes out in early 2023.

Three mainline Persona games are coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC with Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden coming soon while Persona 5 Royal will be released in October 21, 2022.

Okay, great job Xbox for managing to get the mainline Persona games to your system and that's awesome. Love all of these games and glad to see that Xbox players will be able to play these amazing games for the first time. Keep it up Xbox and keep bringing Japanese games to Xbox! Persona!

Starfield is an action role-playing game developed and published by Bethesda as the game is set to be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

Originally, this game was supposed to be released on November 11, 2022, but it was announced earlier this year that the game was going to get delayed. However, after seeing this game in action, holy crap, it looks incredible and I'm glad that Bethesda is taking their time to ensure that this game is fantastic. The gameplay looks smooth, the environments look like a lot of fun to explore, and the customization with your characters and ships is expansive. Bethesda is really pulling all of the stops in this game, and I can't wait to see how this game turns out when it comes out next year.

Overall, this was a great presentation from Xbox and Bethesda. Pacing was pretty good as they managed to showcase a lot of games within an hour and a half. Plus, they managed to show a lot of variety in terms of the games that they've shown with different art styles, different gameplay mechanics and combat, and different environments, where no one game looked the same here as I felt there are times where Xbox shows very similar games all the time, so this was a nice change of pace which I appreciate. Plus, they actually show gameplay with a lot of the games that they've shown where in the past, they hardly showed any so thank you Xbox for learning your lesson on that. Not only that, the fact that Xbox managed to get more Japanese games on their system is nice especially getting the mainline Persona games as well as getting Hideo Kojima to make a game for them which I didn't mention here, but that was awesome. Despite the Xbox Series X having a rough launch, they're looking to make it up with the games that they're making and putting them on their system which I hope it pays off for them in the end. Either way, great job Xbox and more presentations like these please in terms of pacing, variety of games, and showing gameplay.
