Gaming Influence: Thoughts - PlayStation State of Play | September 13, 2022

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my thoughts on the PlayStation State of Play on September 13, 2022.

Before I start, not every game that was shown in this presentation will be talked about as I will mainly talk about games that I care and interested on. If the games that you care and are interested don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're not just for me or it's just I don't have much to say about them expect cool. However, if you are happy with the games that you care and are interested on that I'm not or nothing to say about it, good for you and I'm happy for you.

Anyway, let's get started!

For this PlayStation State of Play, this was mainly focused on games coming to PS4 and PS5 with a showcase of Japanese publishers as well as PSVR2 games so let's get to it!

Tekken 8 is the next mainline game in the popular fighting game series developed by Bandai Namco, Tekken, as it will be coming to PS5 with an unannounced release date.

There was a small tease for this game back at EVO last month and we actually got a full trailer with gameplay in this which looks freaking amazing. Kazuya and Jin looking sick here and I love it. It's been seven years since Tekken 7 was released so it's about time for a new Tekken game and I can't wait to see more of it in the future.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a remake of the same name that was released exclusivity in Japan for PS3 and PS4 in 2014 as it will be released in the West for PS4 and PS5 in February 2023.

Great to see that this game is releasing outside of Japan with being a remake as well as I really wanted to try this game and we finally do so early next year. I'm so glad to see that the Like a Dragon, formerly known as Yakuza series, is now getting more recognition outside of Japan and I love it. Looking forward to trying out this spin-off game early next year.

Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS4 and PS5 on February 10, 2023.

As I mentioned before, despite the author of the books being transphobic and all, this game still looks pretty good, and the game even comes out with an exclusive quest for PS4 and PS5 with the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop which will include an additional dungeon, shopkeeper's cosmetic set, and an in-game Hogsmeade shop which is quite cool. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out when it's released early next year.

Pacific Drive is a first-person driving survival game developed and published by Ironwood Studios as it will be coming to PS5 in 2023.

This looks to be a fun driving survival game where it looks like you're doing whatever it takes to survive inside a car which is quite interesting. Very interested to see how this game will play and hope to see more of it soon when it comes out next year.

Synduality is a sci-fi third-person shooter developed and published by Bandai Namco as it will be released on PS5 in 2023.

This looks to be really cool with the use of mechs in this game and the story seems quite interesting as well. The world looks a lot of fun to explore as well so hopefully, we'll get to see more of this game in the future as it will be releasing next year.

Stellar Blade is an action game developed and published by SHIFT UP Corporation as it will be released on PS5 in 2023.

Originally, this game was called Project Eve and the last time we saw any footage of this game was of the PS5 Showcase last year in September so nice to see that the game is making great progress so far and it looks amazing. As I mentioned before, this game pretty much to me looks like a combination of Bayonetta and NieR Automata into one and I love it for it. Hope to see more of this game in the future as it will be releasing next year.

Rise of the Ronin is an action-role playing game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo as it will be coming to PS5 in 2024.

Man, this looks to be another beautiful game by the Nioh team as it looks amazing with the world and environment. The combat looks very smooth as well, but it will be a while until we get the game. However, from what we've seen from this game so far, it looks incredible and hope to see more of this game when it comes out in two years.

God of War Ragnarök is the next mainline game in the popular action-adventure game series developed by Santa Monica Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, God of War, as it will be coming to PS4 and PS5 on November 9, 2022.

Okay, before I talked about the game itself, I just have to say that the God of War Ragnarök DualSense controller looks beautiful, and I want it. Now, on the game itself, as expected, this game looks amazing, the graphics look stunning, the combat looks very smooth and fun to play as, and the story is very intriguing as it will basically left off from God of War (PS4) which was amazing in its own right. I can't wait to see how this game will turn out as we don't have to wait long as it will come out in two months.

Overall, this was a good presentation from PlayStation. Granted, it wasn't the same level compared to the one in June earlier this year in my opinion, but it was still good with its own announcements and nice surprises. Hope they keep this up as they're generally getting better each time, they do them which is great to see.
