Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 - 4.2.2025
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. However, I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, movies, anime, video game digital presentations, etc.
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025, focusing on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Before I start, only some games shown in this presentation will be discussed as I will mainly talk about games that I care about and am interested in. If the games you care about and are interested in don't show up here, don't take it personally. I have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me, or it's just that I don't have much to say about them except that they're cool. However, I have nothing to say if you're happy with the games you care about and are interested in them. Good for you, and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!
This Nintendo Direct will showcase the Nintendo Switch 2, including hardware, software, and everything about the system. Let's get to it!
Mario Kart World is a kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo. It'll be released exclusively on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
We saw a sneak peek of this game back in the Switch 2 reveal trailer, and we finally see the game in-depth, and it looks incredible. The fact that you can basically drive virtually everywhere in this game is absurd, as it's like an awesome open-world racing game. The Grand Prix mode is back, but the fact that each course within a cup goes back-to-back continuously is awesome. The Knockout Tour, being an elimination mode where you must race to the finish line from one world to the next one, is insane. Free Roam is basically a practice mode, but it lets you drive around the whole course however you want, which is awesome. Plus, we're going to get more info on this game with a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17, so looking forward to seeing more and can't wait to play it in two months.
Nintendo Switch 2 World Tour is a minigame and tech demo game developed and published by Nintendo. It'll be released exclusively on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
It's nice to see that Nintendo has its own tech demo showcasing the Switch 2 hardware in a game, but the fact that this game is paid and not free pre-installed on the system is very questionable. I think it'll be a cool showcase of what the Switch 2 is about in terms of features and the tech behind it, but again, it should've been free and pre-installed on the system itself rather than being a paid game. Regardless, we'll see how it does once it's released in two months.
Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is an expansion for the party video game developed by Nintendo Cube and published by Nintendo, Super Mario Party Jamboree. This expansion will be released exclusively on Switch 2 on July 24, 2025.
I had a feeling that there'd be a Switch 2 edition of Switch games, but I didn't expect them to make extra content with these editions, so that's a surprise. With Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV, they added three new modes including Mario Party which is your traditional Mario Party game where you can play on board with minigames which utilized the Nintendo Switch 2 camera, Bowser Live which is a mode that requires players to also play minigames using audio, and Carnival Coaster which is a mode that allows players to use mouse controls while playing minigames as they are riding the coaster with HD Rumble. It should be a fun expansion, and we'll see how it turns out once it's released in three months.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition are enhanced versions of the action-adventure games developed and published by Nintendo. The enhanced versions of these games will be released exclusively on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
I'm not surprised that they'll do enhanced versions of these games for Switch 2, as they definitely need them for sure. The enhanced resolution and frame rate for these games will definitely be beneficial, as they're looking great in the Switch 2 version already. Plus, the addition of Zelda Notes, which is basically a map application letting you know where to go and so forth, is awesome. If you have never played these games before, I would recommend playing the Switch 2 edition of these games as they are totally worth it.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World is an expansion for the action-platformer developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, Kirby and the Forgotten Land. This expansion will be released exclusively on Switch 2 in the future.
Wow didn't expect them to add additional content to this game as an enhanced edition rather than DLC, but the new story content in this game is awesome. The new world that Kirby is exploring looks great, and the fact that the game will have enhanced resolution and frame rate for the Switch 2 edition is awesome. Looking forward to trying out the new content once it's released in the future.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is an enhanced version of the action-adventure game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo; Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The enhanced version of the game will be released exclusively on Switch 2 this year.
Not surprised that this game will have an enhanced version, as I thought it would be a cross-gen release, but I guess not. Regardless, having mouse controls for this game is going to be awesome, and the fact that you can choose to either have enhanced mode or performance mode on this game is awesome too. Looking forward to playing this game out once it's released this year.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is an enhanced version of the action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The enhanced version of the game will be released later this year.
This is another game that I expect to get an enhanced version and glad to see it here as well. The enhanced resolution and frame rate will definitely make this game a lot better on Switch 2. Looking forward to playing the game myself once it comes out later this year.
Drag x Drive is a 3-on-3 sports game developed and published by Nintendo, which will be released exclusively on Switch 2 this summer.
Well, I was waiting to see what the gimmick game is for the console, and this looks to be it as it looks to be a lot of fun. The fact that you use the mouse controls of the Joy-Cons to move your wheelchair and using it to shoot is quite clever. Very curious to see how this will turn out as it'll be available to play this summer.
ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition is the complete edition of the action-role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, ELDEN RING. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 this year.
I had a feeling one of the big third-party games that would be coming to Switch 2 would be ELDEN RING, and I was right! The fact that it's the complete package, including Shadow of the Erdtree, is awesome. Very curious to see how this game will run on Switch 2, but glad to see it coming as it'll be released later this year.
Hades II is a roguelike action role-playing game developed and published by Supergiant Games. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 this year.
Nice to see that Hades II is coming to Switch 2, as the beta for this game from last year on PC was done very well. I can't wait to experience the full game itself, as I love Hades as it's one of my favorite roguelike games to play. Looking forward to playing it once it comes out later this year.
Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition is an edition of the fighting game developed and published by Capcom, Street Fighter 6. The game will be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
This was another third-party game that I had a feeling would come to Switch 2, and I was right on that as well. It looks to have the DLC from the past two years, which is awesome, and the fact that it supports local wireless play is nice. Plus, the fact that we're getting amiibo for Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly for this game is absurd but awesome. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion is an action game developed and published by Marvelous. The game will be released on Switch 2 on September 5, 2025.
This game has been in development for quite a while now, so it's great to see more of this game after some time, and it's looking great. I enjoyed the first Daemon X Machina game, and it looks like they're continuing to expand upon it with this sequel. Looking forward to playing the game myself once it's released in five months.
Split Fiction is an action-adventure game developed by Hazelight Studios and published by EA. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Nice to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2 as well, as it's such a fun multiplayer game to play. If you enjoy It Takes Two, you're going to enjoy Split Fiction. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Hogwarts Legacy is an action role-playing game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game will be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Nice to see that Hogwarts Legacy will be coming to Switch 2 despite it already being on Switch. However, the enhanced graphics and frame rate will definitely help a ton. The fact that this game also has mouse controls for this edition of this game is great, too. We'll see how this game will do on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a skateboarding game developed by Iron Galaxy and published by Activision. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 this summer.
Nice to see that these games are coming to Switch 2, as they were announced recently. It's great to see them in HD graphics and so forth. It looks like there'll be new content in this game, too, with a special skateboard track involving SpongeBob SquarePants, which is quite interesting. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out once it's released this summer on Switch 2.
HITMAN World of Assassination Signature Edition is a complete edition of the stealth video game developed by IO Interactive and published by Square Enix. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Very cool to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2 with all of its content and everything, which is great. Very cool to see a Hitman game on a Nintendo console, and we'll see how it turns out. We'll see how it performs on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Project 007 is an action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive, where the game will be released on Switch 2 in the future.
Holy crap! We're getting a new James Bond game! Granted, there were talks about a new James Bond game for a while now, but great to see that we finally got confirmation for it, which is awesome. If we get anything like Goldeneye 007, we're in for a treat. Can't wait to get more details on this game in the future.
BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY HD Remaster is a remaster of the role-playing game developed by Silicon Studio and published by Square Enix, BRAVELY DEFAULT FLYING FAIRY, that was released on Nintendo 3DS in 2012. The game will be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Great to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2, as this is one of those classic JRPGs in the modern era. Great to see enhanced graphics and performance on this game, as well as a better UI. If you love your classic turn-based JRPGs, I would recommend checking out this game. Looking forward to replaying it once it's released in two months.
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut is the complete edition of the action-adventure game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Dang, the surprises keep on coming as I didn't expect a complete edition of Yakuza 0, but that's awesome. Plus, this edition comes with new cutscenes that were cut from the original game, which is a nice surprise as well. Loved this game, and I can't wait to play it again once it's released in two months.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is a hack and slash game developed by Omega Force and published by Nintendo. The game is set to be released exclusively on Switch 2 this winter.
Oh wow, I didn't expect a new Hyrule Warriors game, but this made a lot of sense. This game is basically a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, where the War of Imprisonment started to happen. It looks like we'll get more story here and new characters that were mentioned in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but we never get to know them well, so this should be interesting to see. The game looks to run better, too, in terms of frame rate, and it looks to be a musou game, which I'm down for. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out and hope to see more of it once it's released this winter.
Nintendo GameCube: Nintendo Classics is a new gaming service within Nintendo Switch Online that will contain three games at launch, including The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur II, and F-Zero GX, exclusively on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. The service will then later add Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo!: Plug into Adventure!, Luigi's Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum.
Holy crap! We've been waiting to see if Nintendo would add GameCube games to NSO, and they finally did it! Yes! Not a bad selection of games they've chosen to with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soulcalibur II, and F-Zero GX, which are great. Also, the other games coming to Nintendo GameCube: Nintendo Classics is great as well. Looking forward to replaying these games, and with some of them being online, which I'm excited about, within two months.
DELTARUNE Chapters 1 + 2+ 3 + 4 is an episodic role-playing game developed and published by Toby Fox. It'll be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

Great to see that all of the chapters of DELTARUNE will be available on Switch 2, and looking forward to playing them. If you love Undertale, you'll love DELTARUNE, and you can play it within two months.

Nice to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2, even though it looks like it won't be launching with the other versions until later. This is a good get from Nintendo, and we'll probably get more info on this game in the future. We'll see how the game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released later this year.
Sid Meier's Civilization VII is a 4X turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Very cool to see that this game is also coming to Switch 2, even though this game is already on Switch. The fact that this game on Switch 2 will have mouse controls is awesome, as it'll make you feel like playing the game on PC. The fact that if you own the Switch version of this game, you can buy the upgrade pack to get the Switch 2 version, which is nice. We'll see how this version of the game goes with Switch 2 in two months.
Survival Kids is a survival game developed and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Wait, what?! Konami is making a reboot of Survival Kids?! What?! This isn't what I was expecting, but it's awesome to see as it looks to expand upon the original by adding co-op and so forth. I'm just flabbergasted that Konami is doing a new game within this series, but I can't complain about it. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out once it's released in two months.
STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions is an action-adventure game developed by System Era Softworks and published by Devolver Digital. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 in 2026.
Dang didn't expect a 2026 game here, but this looks to be a fun indie game exploring a world as an astronaut. I really like the art style of the game, but I kind of wished we saw a bit more gameplay with this than what we got. However, it looks promising, and I hope to see more of it when it comes out next year.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is an open-world action-adventure role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt. It'll be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
This is a huge get for Nintendo to get this game on Switch 2, and it looks pretty good on the system as well. This is pretty much the best version of Cyberpunk 2077 as they managed to finally fix all of the issues of the game when it first launched so you'll definitely have a better experience if you decide to give this game another try. We'll see how this version of the game will do on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix, where the game will be released on Switch 2 in the future.
Yes! This is another game that I expected to come to Switch 2, and it's coming! Yes! Love this game as it also includes the DLC as well, so you can get to experience the full game of Final Fantasy VII Remake here. The fact that Square Enix announced that the other games within the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy will be coming to Switch 2 is awesome. I can't wait to see how this game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released later this year.
Kunistu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is an action-strategy game developed and published by Capcom. The game will be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
Nice to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2, as it's a fun strategy and a unique one as well. If you enjoy strategy games as well as having a bit of action in them, you'll probably enjoy this game. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania game developed and published by Team Cherry. The game will be released on Switch 2 in 2025.
Oh my god! After three years of no news of this game, we finally got it! Yes! Great to see that this game is coming to Switch 2 and that it still exists as well. The game looks great, and I can't wait to see more of this once it's released later this year.

WILD HEARTS S is a hunting action game developed and published by Koei Tecmo. The game will be released on Switch 2 on July 25, 2025.
Very cool to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2, as I did enjoy the game from what I've played on PS5. If you're into Monster Hunter, then you'll probably enjoy this game. Looking forward to seeing how this game will do on Switch 2 once it's released in three months.
Witchbrook is a life-simulation and social role-playing game developed and published by Chucklefish, which will be released on Switch 2 this holiday.
We saw this game back at the Nintendo Direct last week, but great to see that this game will be coming to Switch 2 as well. Again, this seems to be a fun social simulation RPG, and I'm very curious to see how this game will turn out. Looking forward to seeing more once it's released this holiday.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S is a puzzle game developed and published by Sega. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.

Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out on Switch 2 once it's released in two months.
Shadow Labyrinth is an action-adventure game developed and published by Bandai Namco. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on July 18, 2025.
We saw more information on this game with the Nintendo Direct from last week, but great to see a confirmation that the game will be coming to Switch 2 with better resolution and frame rate. It's still wild to me that we're getting a Metroidvania game with PAC-MAN in it, which is awesome. Looking forward to trying out the game myself once it's released in three months.

REANIMAL is a survival horror game developed by Tarsier Studios and published by THQ Nordic. The game will be released on Switch 2 in 2025.

The Duskbloods is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Nintendo. The game will be released exclusively on Switch 2 in 2026.
Wait what?! We're getting a new Nintendo exclusive FromSoftware Soulslike game?! What?! This is insane! Not only that, but this game also looks exactly like Bloodborne, which I believe PlayStation fans would be angry and disappointed at. Regardless, it looks amazing, and I still can't believe that Nintendo managed to get a deal with FromSoftware to have an exclusive game on their system with a new IP. Unbelievable, and it looks fun as well. It's definitely a Soulslike game, which I'm excited about. Hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released next year.

Oh my god! We're getting a new 3D Donkey Kong game after three decades since Donkey Kong 64 on Nintendo 64! Holy crap! Not only that, but it also actually looks amazing, and I love the graphics for the game as well. Plus, the design for Donkey Kong in this game looks to be the same from the Super Mario Bros. Movie, as he's so expressive and it's great to see. Donkey Kong also looks like a beast in this game, and I love the design levels and the enemy designs too. This game screams Super Mario Odyssey vibes to me, and I'm here for it. I'm looking forward to playing this game once it comes out in three months.
Overall, this was an excellent presentation from Nintendo. I feel like Nintendo nailed it in terms of advertising the hardware and software for Switch 2, which is a lot better compared to what they did for the marketing for Wii U for sure. Switch 2 is more than just a powerful Switch in terms of spec;s but also has features that Switch doesn't have. The C button is the GameChat button, where it's a chat feature where you can communicate with friends and so forth. Plus, the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera being a webcam can definitely be beneficial for streamers and content creator,s so that's awesome. GameShare being allowed to share games online with friends is great with a nice selection of games they chose so far. The mouse feature is going to change a lot when it comes to playing games on Switch 2, which excites me a lot. The only downside for this presentation for me is that they didn't show the price of Switch 2 and after looking at the news of it, I can understand why as it would piss a lot of people off and I was right. Really hope they drop the price of Switch 2, but we can only hope. Despite that, Nintendo killed it here, and I'm looking forward to experiencing the Switch 2 within two months.
