Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Pokémon Presents 2.27.2022
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I will be discussing the Pokémon Presents that happened on February 27, 2022.
Before I start, not every game that was shown in this presentation will be talked about as I will mainly talk about the games that I care and am interested on. If the games that you care and are interested don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me or it's just I don't have much to say about them expect cool. However, if you are happy with the games that you care and are interested on that I'm not or have nothing to say about it, good for you and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!
Now, first off, for those who are unfamiliar with the Pokémon series, it's a role-playing game series developed by Game Freak. In addition, the Pokémon video games have been branch off into spin-off series that are different from the mainline Pokémon games. For Pokémon Presents, they generally present video games, mobile games, movies, anime, merchandise, etc. from the Pokémon franchise as this Pokémon Presents will present what's going to happen with Pokémon this year.
Anyway, let's get to it!
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is getting a new update as you get the Legendary Pokémon, Shaymin, by retrieving Oak's Letter and it is available now.
Well, I was expecting a new update with Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and we got it in the form of being able to get a new Legendary Pokémon in Shaymin which is nice. If you haven't already, I suggest you do it as soon as possible as it will expire until March 27 so get to it!
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is getting a new software update with 1.1.0 Daybreak as there will be new Pokémon outbreaks and new battles for players to experience as the update is available now.
Well, I was expecting new content for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but I was expecting more in terms of DLC or an Expansion Pass like they did with Pokémon Sword/Shield instead of a free update. However, I can't complain as it's new content to the game regardless so it should be a lot of fun as Pokémon Legends: Arceus is one of my favorite games in 2022 and I expect it to still be one of my favorites until the end of the year.
Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is the ninth generation of the role-playing game series developed by Game Freak and it will be released worldwide in late 2022.
Holy crap! Granted, Game Freak generally develops the next generation of Pokémon every few years so that's not shocking. However, I'm surprised that it's actually coming out this year instead of next year as they just released Pokémon Legends: Arceus just last month which is insane. Not only that, it looks to be an open world game that has elements from Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but combining the traditional elements of Pokémon with gyms, towns, etc. which can be amazing if done right. If Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a sign to things to come, then I'm very excited about this. As of right now, this region seems to take place in Spain due to the architecture of the buildings and the environments as well as the name of the new Pokémon in this region so far which is very cool. Now, let's talk about the starters that they've shown. To me, I feel like the starters are actually not that bad as they're slowly growing on me. We got Sprigatito (Grass Type Cat Pokémon), Fuecoco (Fire Type Crocodile Pokémon), and Quaxly (Water Type Duckling Pokémon). I have to say as of right now, I am leaning towards Fuecoco or Quaxly, but as of this time, the starters are growing on me and I can't wait to see more of this game and how the open world aspect works as it will be released late 2022.
Overall, this was a good Pokémon Presents. Granted, this would have been an average Pokémon Presents due to mainly showing content that was already known and despite getting new content with Pokémon Brilliant/Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it was expected, but not anything major. However, thanks to the reveal of Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, this Pokémon Presents went from average to good for me.
