Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Capcom Showcase | 6.13.2022

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my thoughts on Capcom Showcase 2022, on June 13, 2022.

Before I start, not every game that was shown in this presentation will be talked about as I will mainly talk about games that I care and am interested on. If the games that you care and are interested don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're not just for me or it's just I don't have much to say about them expect cool. However, if you are happy with the games that you care and are interested on that I'm not or nothing to say about it, good for you and I'm happy for you.

Anyway, let's get started!

Now, for those who might be wondering, what is Capcom Showcase? Capcom Showcase is a digital presentation from Capcom where they announce their current or upcoming games. Without further ado, let's get to it!

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a DLC expansion for the action role-playing game, Monster Hunter Rise, as the DLC expansion is set to be released on June 30, 2022. In addition, a demo is out for the game on June 14, 2022, on Switch and PC. Plus, free updates will be coming to the game including a new monster, Lucent Nargacuga, in August 2022 with an additional three free updates that last through 2023.

Man, Capcom definitely brought in a lot of new content in this DLC expansion with Sunbreak with Monster Hunter Rise as it looks incredible. We got a returning local like the Jungle which is nice to come back with enhanced visuals and we also got some returning monsters like Espinas and Gore Magala as well. Plus, we got new monsters with Daimyo Hermitaur and Pyre Rakna-Kadaki which are pretty much crab monsters which I'm down for. Not only that, getting free updates for this game till 2023 is awesome so that's exciting. Finally, that pre-order bonus of getting costumes for your Palico and Palamute being actual cats and dogs are cute. Either way, this looks to be a great DLC expansion for Monster Hunter Rise and I can't wait to try it out at the end of the month.

Capcom Fighting Collection is a fighting game compilation which includes Red Earth, Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition, The Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Vampire Savior, Vampire Savior 2, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness, and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo as the compilation will be released on PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC on June 24, 2022.

Nice to see that Capcom will make a fighting game compilation with all of these games into one collection with online and local play which is awesome. Nice to see these classics on here and I can't wait to play it when it comes out later this month.

Exoprimal is a third-person shooter developed and published by Capcom as it will be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

When they first showcased this game back in the PlayStation State of Play in March, this game reminds me a bit of Dino Crisis due to the dinosaurs and all. Now, it looks to be its own thing as it will be a team-based game as they showcased the Dino Survival mode which seems to have a lot of variety in terms of different missions which should be a lot of fun. The Exosuits look to be interesting equipment for players to wear in battle and the fact that there will be a closed network test on the game is cool as this will showcase what the game will be about before it launches. We'll see how this game will turn out when it comes out next year.

Resident Evil Village, the survival horror game, will be getting a DLC expansion called Winters' Expansion which will include Shadows of Rose, The Mercenaries: Additional Orders, and Third Person Mode as it will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 28, 2022.

Man, we've been waiting for the DLC for Resident Evil Village, and it finally happened as it's a lot bigger than I expected. First, we got a Third Person Mode for Ethan as you can replay the game in third person which is awesome. Second, we got The Mercenaries: Additional Orders as stages will added and new characters will be playable including Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Alcina Dimitrescu which sounds like a lot of fun and great new characters to add to the mode. Finally, we got a story mode with Shadows of Rose playing as Rose who is the daughter of the protagonist in Resident Evil Village in a third person perspective. Awesome! Can't wait to see how the story plays out and looking forward to the Winters' Expansion as it will be out in four months.

Resident Evil 4 is a reimagining of the original Resident Evil 4 game on the GameCube back in 2005 as it will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 24, 2023.

When we first saw this back in the PlayStation State of Play a few weeks ago, I was mixed on it as one hand, it does look amazing and I'm pretty sure the game will be great, but on the other hand, the original Resident Evil 4 was something special and it will be very hard to replicate it again so the fact that this game is a reimagining rather than a remake makes me feel relieved where even if it does not live up to the original, the original will still be there which I appreciate. The trailer that they've show here was pretty much the same as the one in the PlayStation State of Play, but they also added a little bit of gameplay of the game which is nice. Either way, we'll see how the game will turn out when it's released next year.

Overall, this was a good presentation from Capcom. If people were expecting new game announcements on this presentation, they're going to be disappointed since Capcom did say that they were only going to showcase games that they've shown in the past and they did exactly that. However, what they did show was good as they pretty much gave us more details on the games that already have announced including DLC for games that are already out with gameplay and everything which is appreciated. Either way, I felt that Capcom did well here, and they did tempered expectations on what they were going to show as they were right, and it was well presented as well.
