Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Indie World Showcase 5.11.2022

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be discussing the Indie World Showcase that happened on May 11, 2022.

Before I start, not every game that was shown in this presentation will be talked about as I will mainly talk about games that I care and am interested on. If the games that you care and are interested don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're not just for me or it's just I don't have much to say about them expect cool. However, if you are happy with the games that you care and are interested on that I'm not or nothing to say about it, good for you and I'm happy for you.

Anyway, let's get started!

Now first off, you might be wondering, what is Indie World? Indie World is a digital presentation showcasing independent video games coming to the Nintendo Switch. For this edition of Indie World, it will cover indie games that will come out on Switch later this year and next year.

Anyway, let's get started!

Ooblets is a life simulation game developed and published by Glumberland that will be coming to Switch in Summer 2022.

There was an early access to this game back in July 15, 2022 on Windows and Xbox One which I have tried personally. However, after seeing more of this game, this looks quite charming and fun as it reminds me a lot of Animal Crossing mixed with Harvest Moon into one which I'm down for. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out as it comes to Switch in Summer 2022.

Elec Head is a puzzle-platform game developed and published by NamaTakahashi that will be coming to Switch in Summer 2022.

Wow, I'm very impressed that this game is made by one person only, Nama Takahashi. To me, it looks a lot like classic Mega Man games with the platforming which looks like a lot of fun. Plus, Elec Head looks to be a mix of Mega Man and Chibi-Robo to me which I like. Looking forward to seeing how this game turns out as it comes to Switch in Summer 2022.

Soundfall is a fast-paced music-based dungeon crawler developed by Drastic Games and published by Noodlecake Studios. The game is now available on Nintendo Switch.

From what I've played from the game so far, it's definitely a lot of fun with its fast-paced combat and its great soundtrack. If you're into fast-paced action rhythm games, this is the game for you. If you're interested in the game, it's available now on Switch so feel the rhythm to the beat and save the world of Symphonia!

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a ragdoll physics battle simulation fighting video game developed and published by Landfall Games as it'll be coming to Switch in Summer 2022.

Okay, this looks like a lot of fun and this can have some comedy gold right here on how the battles turn out and so forth. I can imagine a war with ragdoll physics looking like this and it's perfect. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out when it comes to Switch in Summer 2022.

Gunbrella is an action-adventure game developed by Doinksoft and published by Devolver Digital. The game is set out to be released on Switch in 2023.

Okay, this game looks awesome. With the game being viewed as noir-adventure, you got my interest and the fact that the protagonist's weapon is a gunbrella is freaking awesome. Fun fact, I got myself an umbrella that looks like a fun so it's perfect. In all seriousness, this game has the potential to be great and looking forward to seeing more of it when it comes out to Switch in 2023.

Mini Motorways is a puzzle strategy game developed and published by Dinosaur Polo Club as it's now available on Nintendo Switch.

From what I've played with this game, it's a lot of fun, but can be very stressful as I now understand how road constructors and planners have to go through to make sure that transportation flows. Dang. If you're into puzzle strategy games, this is the game for you as it's now available on Nintendo Switch. However, just make sure you're on track so you don't get a roadblock.

Wayward Strand is a heartfelt interactive story developed and published by Ghost Pattern as it will come to Switch on July 21, 2022.

This seems like a very interesting concept of a visual novel here with a lot of interactions with a variety of characters in one area. Granted, I know this type of game isn't for everyone, but I have a feeling that this game will have some very emotional moments so if you're into very heartfelt stories, this might be a game to check out. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out on July 21, 2022.

Cult of the Lamb is an action-adventure game developed by Massive Monster and published by Devolver Digital. The game will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

When I first saw this game back at Gamescom Opening Night Live last year, I was very intrigued by the game as the artstyle stood out and the gameplay looks to be a lot of fun. The fact that the player plays as a lamb and have to lead their own cult is quite cool. Hope to see more information on this game soon when it comes out to Switch later this year.

Another Crab's Treasure is an action-adventure game developed and published by Aggro Crab as it is available on Switch in 2023.

Okay, a Soulslike game involving crabs?! I'm in! This looks to be so much fun and with it being a soulslike game, expect the game to be very difficult and challenging. However, if you're up for the challenge, I would recommend checking out once it releases on Switch next year. Looking forward to it.

Cursed to Golf is golf-sports game developed by Chuhai Labs as it plans to come to Nintendo Switch later this summer.

Hey, this looks to be a fun golf game with its own adventure with a story. We've gotten a lot of golf-sports games as of late and it looks like we got more with Cursed to Golf as it comes to Switch later this summer. Looking forward to it.

Overall, this was a solid Indie World with some nice surprises and some good looking indie games that are coming to Nintendo Switch. Granted, people still want Hollow Knight: Silksong and Sports Story as we haven't seen those games for a few years now. I have a feeling we'll see them again, but it's unfortunate that it didn't happen here. Regardless, a solid showcase overall for independent games.
