Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Pokémon Presents | 08.03.2022

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence which is a reboot of the same name that I created back in WrestleCorp. However, not only will I be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my thoughts on Pokémon Presents on August 3, 2022.

Anyway, let's get started!

For this Pokémon Presents, it will showcase updates on Pokémon mobile games as well as other Pokémon video games including Pokémon Scarlet/Violet so let's get to it!

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is the ninth generation of the role-playing game series developed by Game Freak and it will be released worldwide on November 18, 2022.

Okay, after seeing more of this game, I'm still impressed on what Game Freak is going for and it has a lot of potential. Like holy crap! First off, it looks like you can get Koraidon and Miraidon very early in the game as they're basically your bike for the game where it can swim and fly which as well is awesome. It's the first time where you'll get the Legendary Pokémon near the beginning of the game which is kind of insane. Not only that, but there will also be three different stories that the player can do throughout the game with one being the traditional story of battling eight gyms to go become a champion. That's not surprising as I'm very curious on what the other two stories will be as my best guess it will be going against the villain team as well as the treasure hunt, but only time will tell. The character designs for the characters in this game look great. Clavell (Director of the academy you're in) looks to be the possible main villain of the game, but that's speculation just by looking at him. Also, like the Grusha (Ice-type Gym Leader) too with the scarf and everything which looks cool. The new Pokémon that they've shown off look good too. Paldean Wooper being a Poison/Ground type could be great for competitive battles. Fidough just looks so adorable being a bread dog and I love it. Cetitan looks pretty cool being an ice whale so that's awesome. It looks like this game will feature heavily on the multiplayer which I love so hopefully that the execution of the multiplayer turns out well. Love the idea of Terastal with the crystals and granting possible different types and buffs to the Pokémon which should be fun in terms of battling so that's cool. Also, love the return of Raid Battles, but this time it involves the Terastal Pokémon which I'm down for. This has the potential to be really good, but it all depends on the execution of the game so Game Freak, hope you guys deliver with this game when it's released in three months.

Overall, this was a good Pokémon Presents. Pokémon Scarlet/Violet was definitely the highlight of this presentation. However, without it, all of this would easily be done on Twitter which would be fine. Though, glad to see Pokémon World Championships come back after three years so that's a treat for people who want that to return. Plus, the updates for Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Masters EX, and Pokémon Café ReMix were nice as well, but like I said before, could've been done on Twitter. Other than that, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet definitely raised this presentation from being average to good in my opinion so looking forward to the game when it releases in three months.
