The Lords of the Fallen is an action role-playing game developed by HEXWORKS and published by CI Games. The game is set to be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X, on October 13, 2023.
We also have seen this game numerous times in the past as it continues to look like Dark Souls which isn't a bad thing as it looks like they're taking this game in a new direction from the original game as this game is basically a reboot. We'll see how this reboot will turn out and looking forward to trying it out when it's released in two months.
Sonic Superstars is a platformer developed by the Sonic Team and published by Sega. The game is set to be released on Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC, on October 17, 2023.
We've seen footage of this game back at Summer Game Fest two months ago and now, we finally got a release date for the game as it'll be released in two months. Dang, October is going to be a stacked month, but definitely excited for this game as it's definitely clicking with me so far and has the potential to be a great Sonic game. Plus, the battle mode that they add to this game looks to be a lot of fun as well especially fighting with robots. Looking forward to playing it in two months.
Sonic Frontiers: The Final Horizon is DLC for the platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The update will be released for free on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, on September 28, 2023.
This is the DLC that I've been waiting for this game and man, this has the potential to be really interesting as this DLC will contain a new story, new playable characters with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, and new challenges as well. Plus, it looks like Sonic has a new form when gaining all of the Chaos Emeralds as that's definitely not Super Sonic so I'm curious to see what this new form for Sonic is. Either way, looking forward to seeing how this will play out when it's released next month.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is an expansion for the open-world action-adventure role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt, and the expansion will be released on PC, Xbox Series X, and PS5, on September 26, 2023.
Man, it's impressive how much the game has improved when it's first launched which wasn't great at all. Now, the main game is a lot better, and the expansion they showed here looks to be a lot of fun. I'm very interested to see how this expansion will do once it comes out next month.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is a mecha-based vehicular combat game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One, on August 25, 2023.
When we first saw the announcement for this game back in the Game Awards last year, I was shocked as I never thought that Armored Core would ever come back, but here we are and this new trailer looks amazing. Great to see Armored Core back and the fact that we don't have to wait long as it's out this week makes it even better. Looking forward to trying the game out once I get the chance.
Mortal Kombat 1 is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game is set to be released on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, on September 19, 2023.
Every time we get a new trailer for this game, I continue to be impressed by this game with its gameplay and graphics. The fatalities in this game look brutal as we also got more characters coming to the game which is awesome. Looking forward to this game on how it turns out when it's released in a few weeks.
Ara: History Untold is a turn-based grand strategy game developed by Oxide Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set to be released on Xbox Series X in 2024.
This game looks to be a huge strategy game similar to Age of Empires in a way in terms of making a civilization, having resources to grow that civilization, and fighting other civilizations to expand and grow your civilization. This game seems different enough compared to Age of Empires that it should be able to hold on its own. Hope to see more of this game down the line when it comes out next year.
Diablo IV: Season of Blood is the next season for the online-only action role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The new season will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC, on October 17, 2023.
Cool to see that the next season for the game has been announced as they're looking to add some new content into the game which is great to see. They're looking to add more boss fights as well as improve the loot from defeating enemies which is a great thing. Glad to see that this game will keep getting support down the line and looking forward to seeing how this season will turn out when it's released in two months.
Dustborn is a single-player, story-driven action-adventure game developed by Red Thread Games and published by Quantic Dream. The game is set to be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC in early 2024.
I really like the art style of this game and the story seems to be quite interesting as the protagonist will say something to other characters which will either create peace or chaos among other characters as I find that fascinating. The combat looks to be fun as it looks to be a beat 'em up to me which I'm totally down. Hope to see more of this game soon when it comes out early next year.
Alan Wake II is a survival horror game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games Publishing. The game is set to be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, on October 17, 2023.
We've seen multiple trailers for this game now, but glad to see a new trailer for the game involving the main protagonist of the game, Alan Wake, which looks to be quite interesting from a story standpoint. It's been over a decade since we got a new game from this series and glad to see that it's going to be out in two months. Looking forward to it when it's released.
Overall, this was a good presentation for Gamescom Opening Night Live this year. Even though I feel like there are still some pacing issues with the show, it's definitely a lot better compared to last year as I feel like the Gamescom Opening Night Live shows continue to get better each year which is a good thing. I feel like the interviews that Geoff Keighley with the developers of the game are around the right time and not too long in most cases which I appreciate, but still needs to be worked on in some cases. The piano performance for the Starfield theme was great and nice to see Gamescom having a Green Studio of the Year Award to help the environment while producing quality video games so hands off to Xbox for their win. Finally, they really need to do something with security as this is the second time where someone that isn't a part of the show got involved which could be dangerous if those people were criminals so hope that Geoff Keighley and his team learned from this and it won't happen at Game Awards this year. Other than that, huge improvement from last year and I hope that they continue to improve from here.
