Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Pokémon Presents 2.27.2025
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. However, I will not only be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series but also on video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.
I'll give my thoughts on the Pokémon Presents on February 27, 2025, for this edition of Gaming Influence.
Anyway, let's get started!
For those who are wondering, what is Pokémon Presents? You can check out what it is through my thoughts on the Pokémon Presents last year here: Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Pokémon Presents 2.27.2024
Anyway, let's get to it!
Pokémon Champions is a battle simulation game developed by Pokémon Works and published by Nintendo. It will soon be released on Switch and mobile.
This was a huge surprise as I thought that they'd showcase a new Pokémon game, but not in this caliber. I'm still trying to figure out what this game is as it looks to be a mix of traditional Pokémon battles and Pokémon Stadium in terms of its theme, but it's hard to say at this point. Regardless, what they've shown here has potential, but I need to see more of what it's really about so hope to get more details on this game in the future.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is an action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. The game is set to be released on Switch in late 2025.
We've been waiting for a year to see gameplay or anything new with Pokémon Legends: Z-A since they announced it back at the Pokémon Presents last year, and it looks great in my opinion. It looks like Pokémon Company and Game Freak learned their lesson from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet by actually taking their time to develop their games, as it looks so much better and I'm glad that they did. Very surprised with the starters that they picked with this game, as they got Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile, as we got two Pokémon from the same generation, which is insane. Also, the gameplay is a lot different compared to Pokémon Legends: Arceus as it looks to be real-time instead of turn-based using the Strong and Agile Style which I'm down for as you can dodge attacks in real-time which is awesome. In addition, this game seems to be a sequel to Pokémon X & Y as well with the characters and the setting too, so that's interesting. Finally, we got Mega Evolutions back, which is awesome, and hope to see new ones. Either way, this has potential and could be better than Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but we'll see as I'm looking forward to playing this game later this year.
Overall, this was a solid presentation from Pokémon Company. As expected, we got our usual updates to the Pokémon mobile games and games that usually get updates such as Pokémon GO, Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Café ReMix, Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Also, we got a new season of Pokémon Concierge which is awesome. In addition, you get a new Rotom phone case for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet as well as more Tera Raids which is cool. Again, Pokémon Champions was a nice surprise and I hope to see more of the game in the future. Finally, of course, Pokémon Legends: Z-A was the main course and I feel like it delivered. We'll see what else Pokémon will have for the rest of the year.
